You Can Be A Wesley is a band on a mission — they’ve got a plane to catch, a train to hop, and a meeting with someone important — and you’re going with them.
Their shifting rhythms wake you up one morning and sweep you away on an odyssey to a familiar but nameless place. The drummer starts, tapping out a beat in tune with the clicking spokes of your bicycle wheels. Sunny guitar riffs glint through the blurred trees as you pedal down woodsy dirt roads and over highways to finally reach the coast. Soon afterwards you find yourself aboard a wide-bellied sailboat bound for tropical waters, the sailor-girl vocalist singing out clear directions from the crow’s nest.
Back on land again, you pause for a minute to listen to the twinkling sound of the keyboard as you gain your bearings and lose your sea legs. You set off on foot, first walking, then running, because you suddenly recognize this building, this piece of sidewalk, this street corner and this street, running until you find yourself looking into the familiar face of your childhood home, glad to have found your way back again.
