When Hooray for Earth returned to their birthplace of Boston to play TT’s in August, Foundwaves hoped to film an unplugged, spontaneous performance before their show. Frontman Noel Heroux obliged, and we took to the streets of Central Square.
"I never do this," he warned, pulling out an acoustic guitar he’d scrambled to borrow from tourmates Admiral Radley, and a synth-free version of the Moma EP-opener "Surrounded by Your Friends" ensued. You can check out the video below, along with the full band version of "Rolling/Nectarine" from later that evening.
Before leaving for their North American tour, Hooray for Earth spent the summer working on a forthcoming full length; you can listen to its first single, "True Loves," over at Pitchfork.
