Back in August, The Highway brought some raw blues energy back to Tommy Doyle’s, the former home of the original House of Blues. The trio moved enthusiastically and aerobically throughout their set; at one point, singer/bassist Daniel Tortoledo even jump kicked a cymbal. Later he took a hand saw and vigorously sawed through an acoustic guitar as guitarist Ysaac Cohen wailed over Ted Macinnes’ hard-hitting drums. Afterwards, Tortoledo offered a piece of splintered wood to the audience. "Anyone want a souvenir?" he asked. The Highway’s large crowd of fans answered with an affirmative. Join the band at Tommy Doyle’s on Friday, October 15th, and perhaps more gifts will be offered.
