Annuals brought sparkling songs and a fierce energy to Great Scott on Thursday. Singer Adam Baker’s intensity manifested itself in vocal chords pushed to the brink of exhaustion and a broken string on a guitar borrowed from The Most Serene Republic. The stage proved small for a six-piece band, but Annuals took the opportunity to display their unity; band members would often face one another, feeding off the energy of a comrade.
After a night filled with songs from their forthcoming EP, Annuals continue on to the mid-Atlantic area with What Laura Says and The Most Serene Republic.
