Adding a healthy dose of the future to musical souvenirs from the past, The Apples in Stereo arrive in the present with a potent hodgepodge of sounds. Even as they bounce from jazzy keyboards on the opening track “Dreaming About the Future”, power pop vocals on “Told You Once”, to futuristic synth frills in the closing song, “Time Pilot”, these unflappable veteran musical travelers always play with a carefree maturity and lightheartedness.
